The Story Between You and MeMeanwhile at Crown Square

Monday, October 31, 2011

We saw this in an opened shop. Doraemon, Angry Bird and Hello Kitty just doesn't get any bigger than this. Outside the mall there is a group of people seemingly testing out their modified car armed with a turbocharged engine, steel enforced roll cage body and a Recaro chair. No photo so you have to use your own imagination. :)

Went to survey on the bedding again. This time at homestar. I quite fancy the one on the right but haven't really tested sleeping on it yet. A lot of things we really didn't know if no research was done prior to buying. I didn't even know got a 1 inch or etc thick latex mattress topper. My only main concern is the mattress can bend enough so we can bring it into the house and room upstairs without going through the balcony. So queen or king ? Still can't decide yet. We might try it again during their upcoming mattress roadshow at Boulevard Shopping Mall Kuching on 4th - 6th Nov 2011.

4th - 6th November 2011 (10:00am - 10:00pm)

In other news....
On 29th October 2011 around 1pm, my grandfather went missing from the OG Albert Complex after he wandered off from my uncle's group. My uncle searched frantically for him since then. My parent went to Singapore to join the search on the 30th October 2011 around 6pm. With the help of the Singapore Police Force and also some of our Singaporean relatives, they manage to found him at 10pm later that night. He is now recuperating at the hospital before coming back home on 1st Nov.

Praise the Lord for He is our maker.

The Story Between You and Mea huge gap ...

Saturday, October 29, 2011

showed up after they install the sliding door we ordered and by huge it's about 3 inches wide off the mark! We ask them to bring back to increase it to cover up the gap. Took them 2 hours just to install it. But I like how punctual they are, say 8.00am come ... 8.00am it is. On a side note, the kitchen sure look more and more like my office pantry.

The Story Between You and MeHanging By ...

Friday, October 28, 2011

the moment. Just got a used wooden venetian blind from a generous donation the other day. Had to give it a fresh coat of paint as part of the "beautification" process. Will hang it at the backyard because we are going to move all the cooking outside due to the constant oil stained wall, floor each time after cooking. Even the standing fan is drench with oil (Pretty shocking discovery the other day). By moving all cooking outside, I think that's what they call a wet kitchen.

The Story Between You and MeRather Unfortunate

Thursday, October 27, 2011

My mum had an accident today just beside the junction going out from the side road of Blessed Sacrament Church near RH Plaza. Luckily there was no injury. So Thank God for that.

The Story Between You and MeSo Getting Hitched

I sort of made a 'proposal' to her many many moons ago. Though she accepted, I'd still remember she say "what kind of proposal is this ?" Yeah we had a laugh about it from time to time but I couldn't think of a better way then just bring her straight to the shop and let her select the one she like and proceed to purchase it.

The Story Between You and MeNavigate

Wednesday, October 26, 2011

Previously installed the Nokia Ovi Maps on the phone which didn't work very well. Then google maps which also didn't work because the need to have a constant GPRS/3G connection. I didn't like GPRS or a data plan so I turn to Garmin Mobile XT software. Which only requires a built in GPS to work. Yeah it does take a while to get a lock on but once locked it rarely breaks off unless extreme cloud condition. Though it doesn't serve much purpose in your own hometown, I find it quite useful when visiting new places during vacations. Speaking of vacation ... Melaka, Penang, KK sounds tempting once again.

The Story Between You and MeLocation 3

Tuesday, October 25, 2011

This is actually the third location that we went on the outdoor last last weekend. We thought of going back there to test some shot but didn't came prepared. Didn't bring the flash and the umbrella softbox is currently on loan. Not to mention the tripod too.

The Story Between You and MeSomewhere inside Hock Lee..

Monday, October 24, 2011

there is an eatery called Uncle Jas Cafe. Always pass by the area without trying so we decided to give it a go because I was craving for a plate of nasi lemak after watching nasi lemak 2.0 last last week.

What can I say about the movie, it was fairly good local production. Good dialog all around, the fact that it is laced with various dialect makes it a worthwhile movie. My only complaint is on some of the effects which are a bit way off, like the yin yang logo animation during the standoff between Namewee and Adibah Noor. Hero Huang's journey was nicely told and solidly backup by great supporting cast from Karen Kong to David Arumugam. A lot of the dig on current Malaysian social issues cracks us up with the crappy streamyx issue and constant blackout by TNB being the highlight. We felt the ending was a bit rushed though. :)

uncle jas cafe served up a tasty nasi lemak with curry chicken. the sambal is fairly tasty as well.

Wheat Grass and Soya Bean.

Ho Chiak man this one. Succulent and delicious.

The food portion is just about right. Not too much, not too less.

Actually we wanted to go Talleywood look at the bed stuff but somehow I chicken out at the last minute. Sorry about that ya. :)

The Story Between You and MeBreakfast!

Sunday, October 23, 2011

Woke up earlier to make breakfast today. You don't read that sentence from me very often. LOL. Now if I remember correctly, I'm suppose to make a scramble egg + tomato with bread. We bought the bread yesterday at Southern Bakery with a Mexican bun, a Pandan muffin (which was nice) and something else which is skipping my memory right now. All that for RM 6.40 cheaper than a vanilla turn strawberry milk shake that she ordered from Secret Recipe Spring in the afternoon. Expensive and overrated. Next time we try to make the milk shake ourselves with the help of Youtube of course!.

Here is some story about the home clock. My mum used to configure the clock to be 15 minute faster back in the days where we used to stay in Kenyalang right up until we move here. It continued until my resignation from pelabuhan perdagangan. Back then I never had a late moment to work but it was pretty stressful especially under the pretense that the time is always showing faster than it should be. Now the clock is configured to the actual time, which explains why I got a few episodes of late to work more often than not!

Fairly soft and nice texture.

I used 3 of these and didn't wait it warm into room temperature. Didn't see there was a mentioned requirement of needing the egg warming up to room temperature before you can fry it. So I'll just forgo that one. Level 0 cooking student here.

These tomatoes aren't bought. It's fresh from the backyard of the Wong residence. A big thank you to Mr & Mrs Wong for these juicy tomatoes. Inspires everyone to grow their own backyard vegetables instead of paying a premium price for a chemical laced vegetables at the supermarket.

I try to put as little oil as possible and I had to use a regular wok as I couldn't find the flat non stick pan anywhere. The egg looks good when it's on the up side. When I try to flip it .... the egg didn't listen to the command I input in.

So I scramble it. Too late to check youtube now on how to flip a frying egg. Blame that on slow streamyx.

I didn't know how to cut these. Slice ? Dunno how to slice it thin because I'm afraid of cutting my fingers. With an injured finger I cannot do my job or my hobby. I think i ended up just cincai dicing it.

Simple to prepare and only takes less than 6 minutes to do it. A few note on cooking, cleaning up is a chore. Preparing the ingredient is fun. Putting everything in the wok is fun. Controlling the fire and food from being overcook or extremely overcook aka Chau Tah is a major stress. So cooking is a 50-50 experience of good and bad. The ultimate good thing is you can save some money in the process if you use the ingredients prudently.

I ate one just now, surprising it's edible. The rest later give to dear to try before we go church later on. Still not so confident in making food related things for other people yet. Maggi mee goreng mungkin boleh lah~~

The Story Between You and Methe day after yesterday

Saturday, October 22, 2011

pretty tiring day on Saturday last week. What ? it was last week already ? time suddenly feels like it is moving rather fast. We were just discussing this in the car just now after the game about how the Japanese Tsunami have somehow shifted the time faster by 2 seconds per day. This time last week the company had a fun field trip to cultural village, I kinda feel gutted I missed out on this trip. =.=" but unfortunately my outdoor engagement takes priority over everything else. We were actually quite near to where everyone else where, being at Pasir Pandak while they were enjoying a feast at Buntal. Never the less, I am rather looking forward to the annual dinner at the end of the year with all the colleagues.

I found out in Sunday morning that I had 2 sand flies bite after the outdoor the day before. Sand flies bite are quite annoying.

Went to visit the orchid garden on Sunday afternoon too. We stumble on a group of people who look and behave rather suspiciously. We just ignored them and bolt away 10 minutes later. There was a "Hari Wanita" celebration at the old DUN building.

The other place of our outdoor scene. This one is located at a tree filled location just a few hundred yards behind the state library.

Spiky fella isn't it ?

We ended the day with a simple dinner at Bombay Masala RH Plaza. She had a Nasi Goreng Pattaya. And I was looking forward to a Nasi Lemak after watching it last week. Unfortunately they do not have it in the menu. I settled on a Curry Chicken with white rice instead.

The Story Between You and MeWhen White Rice ...

Monday, October 17, 2011

turned into a fried rice. Due to recent lessening of the rice portion we ate at home, we now found ourselves with an overflow of leftover rice. An ideal situation for fried rice making. Incidentally, fried rice happens to be my favorite food of all time! So still a win win situation. :)

The Story Between You and MeLunch few weeks ago ...

Sunday, October 16, 2011

which I totally forgot about until I transferred the photo into the PC just now. I'm trying hard to recall how was the food taste like ... but all I could remember was there was a lot of pigeon nearby and there is a lot of customer that came to tapao.

Couldn't help it but there was way too many chopsticks around. Which is a good thing.

Wait what ? Lunch ? That's all ??? Well, we are really not a big eaters.

Taste good. Not exquisite but good. I had better ones at PJ/KJ area some years ago.

The Story Between You and MeThere was a time ..

Friday, October 14, 2011

where I used to think that owning a house was an easy thing. That was back in 2003 though. With 2011 coming to an end, the prices of house are at an astronomical level, one could wonder what sort of salary only you could own an intermediate house at a location nearby. The photo above shows houses built by Kenbest just opposite my neighborhood. Asking price ? RM 728K. Insane isn't it ? With my own calculation the only house range I could afford based on my salary would be around RM 180k only if I wanted to include all those furniture and electrical stuff in. If I went to buy a RM 280k house, I could expect to have an empty house at least for another 3 years while I eat grass every month. But that was all ... a... "there was a time".

I went to have some peek at mattress some few weeks ago and was again dumbstruck once again. Why the mattress are so expensive ? They always advertise so many new technology built into the mattress to ensure supreme sleeping experience. So why not invest in technology that lower the prices of this exorbitant stuff ? Even with such a comfortable mattress, I highly doubt I could get a good night sleep knowing my pocket is burnt as deep as the rabbit hole. And rabbit hole goes very very very deep.

The Story Between You and MeAnd so and so ...

Let's see where to start...

Yesterday there was a heavy rain. Found my living and kitchen is leaking rain water. Both place are recently renovated and it's quite a headache to see such problem crept up. Still yet to determine where does the leakage came from. The gypsum board in the kitchen still holds up, fortunately.

October would the first time in my life that I face with so much deficit financially. Hope everything goes well in the end.

We got a date. which is good. Attempting to book 2 venue which hopefully both are available. Checking our budgets along the way. I started to partially announce to some of my outstation friend to make themselves available on that date. We will be following the Chinese calendar recommendation closely. What's left are the JPN, Commissioner of Oath, meeting with the Pastor, venue booking manager and we're almost set to go.

The Story Between You and MeMeanwhile ..

Saturday, October 8, 2011

forgot to bring the memory card today again ... so basically I carried out the camera without a card. It is as useless as a bricked gadget. So this morning I went with my mum to Fah Avantgarde Haberdasher and went to check out the rolling blind again. After giving them the measurement, they talked about the pros and cons of having a split rolling blind (into 2 portion) and a single long type version. According to them, if you choose the single long type version, it is most likely it won't last long due to its enormous weight of the cloth. I ended up putting an order for 2 rolling blind instead. We also ordered a a curtain for the living room and inquired on a wooden blind for the backyard. It should be ready by the end of this month. Which is lucky, because after I paid the deposit for the above, I only left RM 13 for the remaining month. And that's like more than 3 weeks to go. Couldn't bring dear to Johnny English Reborn movie for the time being.

The 101 Optical is just beside here, the place where I made the Facebook eyewear.

The condo just behind the office, looks to be ready in the coming months.

She must be thinking ... why so long no bring me movie ?

The Story Between You and MePotong Dua

Friday, October 7, 2011

quite a famous line from Gaban Z. What luck that there still 2 "Potong" ice cream inside the office fridge yesterday! Since no one wanted to eat it, so we gave it some helping hands.

Didn't enjoy Potong one bit last time. Probably was because there was only the red bean version back then. This Avocado one is exquisite on the taste bud!

The Potong was so nice that one of our dealers from Taiwan actually ordered 1000 Potong so he could bring it back to his country. So does it mean Potong .... Ke Arah Kuasa Dunia Besar ?

The Story Between You and MeThe Second Hand Shop

Thursday, October 6, 2011

Came here yesterday to sell off some of the office old stuff such as fax printer and those huge crt monitors. Going through the list.

  • 3x CRT Monitor
  • 5x Fax Printer
For a grand total, RM 25. Not too shabby for junk eh.

Situated at Jalan Mendu

Huge collection of second hand stuff here. Didn't see any camera or lens though. I certainly wouldn't mind picking up a used compact digital camera. Being thinking of using one for underwater photo with a dicapac.

This shop basically got me thinking. Instead of throwing away those old and working stuff away, might as well turn into cash instead.

I wonder how much would they pay for this shoe. :P
