The Story Between You and MePizza Making : Voila

Thursday, June 30, 2011

Last part is probably the easiest. Just decorate the toppings. Warning .... lots of CHEESE~~~

Before going into the oven.

After going into the oven, 10++ minutes later.

Ready for consumption.

The dough i created. Looks kinda flimsy. Pepperoni topping this time.

Pizza Hut can move aside already.

Salah focus.

The Story Between You and MePizza Making : The Process

Now where do we start ? Weigh the corn flour first. Mix in the yeast, castor sugar and pour some water for mixing. Reminds me of people mixing cement in a construction place.

Mix it all together.

Olive Oil can dive in now. One or two teaspoon i think .. depending on the amount of flour.

It's rather messy. If you wanna skip this part ... it's ok. Can just go buy those ready made dough. Is it call a dough ? I am not totally sure.

Once the dough stick together, its all good. According to Terence, at this stage you can feel if the dough is usable or not. If it's too watery and way too sticky  .. it's no good.

You keep the dough in a what do you call that thing ? I dunno. Keep it wrapped for 2 hours and wait for the yeast to do it's magic.

Cho Ma Kai, Cho Ma Kai ? Nunchuck ? her her har hi ?  Two hours later ...

Flatten the dough with the roller.

Sprinkle some of the corn flour onto the pan. Reminiscence of a time where we used to play the "calon" board game. Place the dough into it and pull or stretch it to cover the entire pan.

To be continue ....

The Story Between You and MePizza Making : Ingredients

Wednesday, June 29, 2011

Over the last weekend, Terence from Fruity Life invited us over to join him on a pizza making session. They prepare the ingredients while we just join in to make it. Quite interesting experience I must say. He made 2 pizza that day while I did one. Apart from the dough making part, can safely say it is less messier than cooking up say a sesame oil chicken ? (Yeah I not only suck at badminton, I also suck at cooking :))

The usual suspect. Castor sugar, yeast, corn flour, olive oil

Basil leaves. Only some of it. There are 3 type of herbs in there. Forgot what is the other 2's name.

Pepperoni or a dry sausage. Italian American Salami.

Canned tomato puree.

Basil Leaves. Smells nice. Wash before use.

Cheese. Garlic Onion. Tomato.

The Story Between You and MeThat Kodak Moment

Ever had that wacky day where everything seem very happy all day long ? This was that day. Wait for the next post about pizza making .... hehe.

The Story Between You and Metoast BAR

Monday, June 27, 2011

Initially we actually opted for that shop with the huge chicken sign board but unfortunately for us there are just too many customer at the time. Fortunately for them obviously. So no dice, change venue lo. Toast Bar was the second choice. Third choice would be just go home for some Aussie OATS.

White table and chairs. A good choice actually, always dark color can be rather boring.

Food pricing is pretty average. Standard by today's standard. Does it even make any sense ?

Red Tea is fantastic. Being a coffee drinker, I must say tea is just as good as a coffee in terms of aroma. I didn't say that so I can get a +1 point from my dear's uncle, honest!

She ordered this one because she is seemingly very hungry. I on the other hand is worried about my weight. Kong tiok phui .. all appetite already masuk longkang.

minced chicken meat i think. Quite nice. I only ate the minced meat and the egg. The rice is nice too but kia phui ma.

Will we come again ? After the ceremony la.

The Story Between You and MeEnjoy The View

Sunday, June 26, 2011

A very original song by David Choi, enjoy the view. Somehow the opening and the chorus keep playing in my head right this very moment. It's beautiful and calming song. My idea of a total relaxation after a hectic weekday, would probably sipping some Jackie D on ice while listening to our favorite song inside the home theater room and having family member get together discussing our weekly activities. My cousin gave birth to a baby girl last week. So that's 2 girls now. Very sing fu. :)

If you never heard before the song enjoy the view,

The Story Between You and MeKenyalang 7.30am

Rather unusual day isn't it ? Soaring temperature, hot air everywhere. And I didn't even need to lift a finger, I'm sweating like after running a marathon. This morning I join my parents for breakfast at good old kenyalang market. First time I notice that the parking underneath market are now systematized. Parking also based on time basis rather than entry. Heard from Terence that his bro told him that the Spring management will start implementing similar policy come July. A good thing for the casual shopper, bad for those Sing K Kaki or Movie Kaki. One thing I'm still not too happy about Spring is too many illegal parking. The police station is just a stone throw away ... is it so hard to come over and issue a summon for parking on yellow line ? and also those "clever" drivers that drove on to the grassy area. A weaken cement drain cover that would collapse without notice is a hap hazard for pedestrian.

Noticed numerous MBKS crew stopping by the road side to trim the trees. Most didn't place the "AWAS" sign at least 100 meter away. Pretty dangerous.

My dad had this. He say its nice. No so oily. I could only see and smell as I'm on a diet. 7Kg to go.

I've reduced my coffee intake from 1 cup per day to 1/4 per day. Too much sugar in my bloodstream. Phui phui nap nap .. no good... no good.

I used to be a Kolo Mee worshipper .. now I only worship God and switch to porridge. I rather like Teochew porridge more than others. This one is rather tasteless but the chicken meat is nice.

A group of people came over to gave a free instant tea drink on our table. A good idea for product awareness but I still not so sure what is it nor am I too keen to try it. Speaking of marketing strategy. We saw a number of car parked at Kenyalang are tied with a love shaped balloons. I didn't go near to see what it was, but it looks like they replace placing paper on car wiper to placing helium balloons instead. Nice idea.

Not a Chinese reader. But sure sound funny if you read the English name. No offense ya.

Some things just never change. And it's better that way. Feels very much like home here.

My mum stomach not well again. She only want to eat some kuih. A local Chinese donut.

The Story Between You and MeMum's Home Cook

Friday, June 24, 2011

My mum always complaint that she doesn't know what to cook everyday. Though I never actually say it to her, I think my family always enjoyed her cooking. Maybe it's just me, I do wonder some time why I just couldn't directly praise my parent. Ever since being Baptized, I only ever thinking or planning to honor my parent as much as I could. To spend as much time with them as possible including my relatives. I know deep inside, family is the key component in our lives. As our parents grew older each day, we as their children must continue to safeguard their interest no matter how busy we are.

The Story Between You and MeBadminton Week

Thursday, June 23, 2011

We started out on a badminton game this week and hoping to continue the trend for twice a week until September at least. I have to admit  I really kinda suck at this game, the eyes always cannot see the shuttlecock. Yes it's called a shuttlecock ... so mai lasap. Lastly the good thing of having me around in places, is that I will always find some photo opportunities. Now gotta start thinking of how to lug the 50D with me more often.
