After we reached the hotel, we all quite shocked that "My Hotel Platunam" was located at the backstreet Petchburi 15 which was somewhere at Platinum. One of the bell boy of the hotel came out and greeted us said ‘Hey, welcome my friend’. Then he helped us to carry our luggage to the hotel and checked in. The hotel room was nice and clean, but one thing that I was not so satisfied was the washbasin, it was because the water could not clear out after usage. Besides, the electrical plug appliance was different. It was not like plug use in my country, plug they supplied was merely 2 holes but plug I usually use was 3 holes plug which was called ‘travel plug’ for them. So, I need to request the travel plug from the lobby for my own use. After that, everything was settled and we planned to walk around to explore the Platinum area. These were my first day in Bangkok. The next day, I woke up at 7am and took a bath. Then, we had some buffet breakfast at the hotel which was included in the accommodation package. During the breakfast session, Nathan told us that he planned to bring us to the gemstone factory names The Gems Gallery International of Bangkok Co. Ltd. and the Safari World Bangkok. Those places were not in my trip plan but it was not bad to have a visit. Finished our breakfast and rode the hotel tuk tuk car to meet our taxi drivers who were waiting for us at a bigger street somewhere near the hotel, and continued our journey by taxi.
On the way to the gemstone factory, we noticed a building names something like J.J Fashion Massage (if I am not mistaken), then Nathan turn to taxi driver and said ‘It is a massage centre.’, the driver said ‘Yes, But woman cannot’. Nathan surprised and said loudly ‘Woman cannot!!? OOohohoho! I see I see.’ Then we all laugh in the car. Get what I meant? LoL.
Reached the gemstone factory, we saw many of Thai costume wearing lady who were standing at the main door and ready to serve us. They lead us to watch the introduction video of gemstone, after that brought us to go through the work in progress. In my mind said ‘Sign, waste of time’. Then again they brought us to the showroom and tried to persuade us to buy those jewelries. ‘Very sien, boring way of doing business’, this sentence pop out in my mind again. At last I bought an amethyst crystal necklace as souvenir, waited other people of the group finished their jewelry shopping.
Finished the trip of gemstone factory, we continued headed to Safari World Bangkok. It took about 1 to 2 hours to reach the place. A sleepy journey since it was long hour in the car on the road. The entrance fees was quite expensive and it costs about 1100 Bath (RM110). Sob Sob. We watched the dolphin show, the spy agent show and many more. We also saw a lot of types of birds and animals. But now, I still can remember the slim polar bear in Safari. I pity the polar bear which was living under the hot temperature without any air-con supplied and looked like very sick. It was heartbroken to see this kind of scene. I really did not know how the workers treated the polar bear, my goodness. Hope I was wrong.
