Always wondered how people can shoot landscape with so much surreal color straight from the camera instead of fiddling too much on the computer during post processing. I brought along my recently acquired GND filter for some test drive today. Weather wasn't really favorable with grey cast near evening time. The GND filter allow alteration of the scene color straight on camera. Very handy and a must for all landscape lovers. Will write a simple review when I have used it ample amount of times later on. Sometime off note, yesterday there was a Chinese deity procession at hui sing while today there is another procession (Siong Onn Kong Birthday I think ?) in town a few hours ago. We met those group of people around 5 something while we're shooting there just now.
I tried with the blue gnd filter while in the car. Was testing out the 1/10 second shutter theory i read a few days ago at phototuts+ site. Will try the 1/10 second theory tomorrow at a more crowded place perhaps. Even though i was using a blue filter, there are some editing applied on the road. If no filter was used, the sky would have been more blown out. Need to get a ND8 filter piece to allow a much slower shutter in daylight.
nothing mounted in front and the scene was rendered in lightroom. I think i used the sunset presets on this one. The original photo on camera was really dull and devoid of any color due to the poor overcast grey sky.
Even i was surprised with the result from the back of the camera's lcd. No editing needed, the filter manage to paint the sky wonderfully. A orange and black gnd filter is stacked together to create the effects above.
Haha, this one is quite tricky. Look very much edited but actually is not. I'm beginning to really enjoyed using the gnd filter more and more.
