As promised the photo above is the straight unedited version from camera. Anyway here is some of the reflection on last week's sermon. The title is "Are you willing?" which was taken from the book of Matthew Chapter 9 verse 35-38. This sermon reflects perfectly how I have been all my life, a timid person with little confidence and unwilling to join any activities constantly giving excuses after excuses. We all just need that little "kicker" to push us through. My eyes, ears and heart open with intend when Rev. Lau mentioned, "belum cuba, mana tahu".
He goes on to point out that most of the time not all our excuses are valid and God has heard it all.
I am too young (Jeremiah 1:4-9)
I am too old (Genesis 18:10-14, 21:1-2,5-7)
I am not a speaker (Exodus 4:10-16)
I am not an important person (Judges 6:11-16)
I don't have time (Luke 14:16-24)
He goes on to point out that most of the time not all our excuses are valid and God has heard it all.
I am too young (Jeremiah 1:4-9)
- do not let your biological & spiritual age be an excuse
- no need social status to have a voice that people will listen. Social status has no bearing on influence. This also includes age and wealth.
I am too old (Genesis 18:10-14, 21:1-2,5-7)
- God given you gifts to serve Him.
- there is no retirement in God's Kingdom.
- outdated is an excuse.
I am not a speaker (Exodus 4:10-16)
- God provided for Aaron, for Moses.
- He just want you to tell your story.
I am not an important person (Judges 6:11-16)
- often, God uses the not so important.
- he look for those that are humble and willing to serve.
- self inferior complex is just in the mind.
I don't have time (Luke 14:16-24)
- It's not whether you have time or not, but whether your willing or not.
