Heard about this event from Sarawak Events at facebook the other day and quite excited to join in the masses for the 3000 step (2 km) walk. To be fair the only reason we attended was for the free t-shirt and breakfast :P. The event is slated to start at 6 am until 10.30am but when we reach the waterfront at 6.25am parking space already mostly taken up and surprised to see so many people queing up for shirt. I remember I did throw some temper tantrum just trying to find a parking spot along carpenter street. Since the queue was quite long, most of them went for their own breakfast at the old chinese opera theater. We had some sandwich and huat kueh which happens to be her fav. The event itself was quite exciting at first but the actual walk itself was quite anti climatic. The warming up session was quite fun although I didn't participate in it as I was busy taking photograph of everyone. Since this year response was quite overwhelming, the organizers have pledge to give out 3000 t-shirt come next year. I hope they will increase the distance of the walk to 5km next year or try to introduce a 10km - 20km walk based on age groups as 2km on a flat road is really not a challenge. 2km going up a mountain, maybe yes :) Secondly, it would be nice if they could have a family and senior citizen category so that they won't have to line up so long. Overall it was an event with great fun, we are already looking forward to the next year edition. Thank you Nestle for organizing such a wonderful event.
