Heard about this event from hui jan, I'm surprised there wasn't any mention of this in the newspaper. Well maybe english newspaper dun have .. but others might. This would mark the very first outing that I bring the camera bag with me, I can say it's better than my nike bag pack. Arrived at HSBC car park at 6.50pm, initially I thought of walking to the temple but after careful consideration, having the china town gateway as background might help some of the photos asthetically. I brought along 3 lens, the 55-250, 11-16 and nifty fifty along with the external flash (which i ended up didn't use). They sort of started pretty late ... so basically i was standing there with the rest like suku kia for almost 1 hour.

Basically the 55-250 is good for candid moments but it's pretty useless (slow in focusing) in low light condition. ^_^

Everyone move at a fast pace ... even ISO 1600 also blur .. F2.8 also mo ngan tai ...

Very funny acts, got the crowd going ... especially the kids.

These guys move a lot ... luckily got rest period to nail the shot.

There were too many lion dance in the procession, but some did really well especialy if they got use a spot light to beam at thier teammate, it basically makes the photographer's job much easier.

Harsh light produces darken shadow which is nice.

I use the 11-16 80% of the time, the wide angle does capture a lot into the frame, but at 2.8 it's still slow.

That's when i switch to nifty fifty. Prime is always that tad sharper.

There were about 4 dragon dances but unfortunately it's all blurred. So only include this moniker version nia.

The guy is in a trance ... no pain. While they need divine intervention, I only need my Jack Daniels to get into trance. haha.

I think this is Tua Pek Kong, the moment it show up, everyone started praying sans me. hehe

See what i mean ?

Immediately after that, everything is burnt.
Cheers ^_^
